Mobile Patrol

A mobile officer arrives at your premises and carries out external and internal checks at agreed inspection points. They look for signs of intrusion, damage, unsecured doors and gates, and anything unsafe such as a leak or a fire risk. Each checkpoint is scanned so there is a record of where the officer went and when. If something needs attention, they follow the procedure agreed with you, which may include securing the area, contacting your site representative or calling the emergency services.

Visits are made at random times throughout the day and night, and that is deliberate. A fixed schedule is easy for anyone observing your site to learn, which creates a predictable window when nobody will come. You agree the frequency and the hours of cover with us, but the exact timing within those hours varies. The record you receive afterwards shows precisely when each visit took place.

Coded checkpoints are placed at inspection points agreed with you, and the officer scans each one during the patrol. This produces a full record of results, locations, times and dates, which is provided to you. You can see not only that a visit happened but which parts of the site were covered. If a checkpoint is missed, that shows up too.

That depends on your risk, your site layout and your budget, so we set it during the survey rather than selling a fixed package. Some clients want several visits across a single night; others want one check each weekend and public holiday. We will give you an honest view of what a given frequency does and does not achieve. If your exposure is high enough that patrols alone will not cover it, we will say so and suggest combining them with monitoring or an on-site officer.

Generally yes, because one patrol team covers several premises on a route instead of one site continuously. That makes active security affordable for locations that could not justify a permanent post. It is not the same thing, though. A patrol gives you presence at intervals, while a guard gives you presence all the time. The right answer depends on what happens at your site between visits, and that is exactly what the survey looks at.

Yes, and this is where mobile patrols are at their most cost-effective. Sites within a reasonable distance of each other can be served on the same route, each with its own checkpoints and its own procedure. You receive reporting per site, so you can compare what is happening across your locations. One contract, one point of contact and one invoice covers the lot.

They act on the procedure you have agreed with us in advance, which is why we set it up carefully at the start. That can mean securing an open door or gate, contacting your nominated site representative, or calling the police, fire or medical services. Our officers are first aid certified and safety certified at supervisor level, so they can help in a medical or safety incident rather than only reporting it. Whatever happens, it appears in your inspection record with the time and location.
